One of the first things we worked on were transfer techniques and cyanotypes

So I just got back from my trip in Italy, and now I have a bunch of new angles to work from. Italy had several points of interest that captured my attention as well as my imagination. In a way, these points of interest felt almost as if I was discovering portals to a magical world. These experiences lead me to come up with a new character as well as somewhat of a story-line of my experience in a foreign country full of such magic. Not only does this story-line include the discoveries of certain magical portals, but it also somewhat incorporates the feeling of being out of your element, something I experienced the whole time I was there.

Italy is fast approaching!! I'm doing a study abroad program in Seravezza, Italy with GMU, and I will be gone from July 10th until July 30th. Not too long but long enough to get a little taste of Europe. We have lots planned (like weekend trips to Rome and Florence) and it will most likely be one nice big culture shock!

Right about now is the time to start inventory of all my art supplies. All day I've been completely emptying out my huge dresser of art stuff and taking list of everything I have. Janis and I are most likely going to compare lists and share a lot of stuff. This trip to Italy is going to be so exciting. I hope that I come back with a lot of inspiration. The most stressful part is making sure I can get all of my art stuff there and back safely.

Here were some of the patterns/swatches I was looking at...

Just found a pretty nifty faux fur website that sells pretty sweet furs by the yard for pretty cheap! I was thinking that I would maybe make some sort of animal sleeping bag similar to the bear shaped sleeping bag, designed by Eiko Ishizawa

Except I was sort of thinking I could re-create one of my animals that I have been working on like the tiger head or the cat head

For some reason lately I have been really into drawing, watercolor and pastel.....but as you can see...still living the stuffed-animal life.

Final Critique

Meaning

As of right now I am confused as to whether or not I want to select a meaning behind the stuffed animal heads that I have lately been so fascinated by. I suppose one could say that I have a fear of creating a path that will soon come to a dead end if I exhaust the subject in whatever direction I choose. It would be accurate to opine that right now I'm having commitment issues.
